What is PRP THERAPY ?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is defined as “autologous blood with concentrations of platelets above baseline levels, which contains at least seven growth factors.” PRP is taken directly from a patient’s own body (usually removed from bone marrow or adipose/fat tissue) and then injected into another site, wherever the affected area might be. Because PRP contains growth factors that heal damaged tissues, it works by naturally triggering localized inflammation, collagen production and other regenerative processes.
Although an emerging technology and technique in sports medicine, it has been used since the mid-1990’s in dental and oral surgery and to aid in soft tissue recovery following plastic surgery.
Even though blood is mainly a liquid (called plasma), it also contains small solid components (red cells, white cells, and platelets.) The platelets are best known for their importance in clotting blood. However, platelets also contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors which are very important in the healing of injuries.
PRP is plasma with many more platelets than what is typically found in blood. The concentration of platelets — and, thereby, the concentration of growth factors — can be 5 to 10 times greater (or richer) than usual.
To develop a PRP preparation, blood must first be drawn from a patient. The platelets are separated from other blood cells and their concentration is increased during a process called centrifugation. Then the increased concentration of platelets is combined with the remaining blood.
Laboratory studies have shown that the increased concentration of growth factors in PRP can potentially speed up the healing process.
In recent years, Vietnam has been rapidly developing and applying PRP therapy and successfully gained possitive results.
1 Help heal woulds much faster. The result can be clearly regconized after 3 weeks and the effect mantains within the next 18 months.
2 Reduce contamination, allergy, elimination because PRP is taken directly from patient's own body.
3 Trigger regenerative processes.
In this treatment, the blood is taken directly from the patient. Then using the centrifugal machine, the impurities are filtered. Therefore, the platelet-rich plasma can be collected. The after filtered platelet will be used to place into the injured skin in order to stimulate the new cells to replace the aged and injured ones. This process will regenerate the better skin after each treatment.
How to apply PRP treatment?
PRP technology has become widely applied and chosen. These are some advantages of PRP in skin treatment:
1 Treat pitting scars :
PRP which is injected in to your skin and combined with Roller Microneedling- Dermaroller brings high effects and virtually improve pitting scars up to 80%.
2 Reduce freckled, dark, burnt skin :
PRP is rich in collagen so it can replace aged and tough tissues, stimulate tissue reproduction. Therefore, your skin will be brighter, smoother and softer after the trearment.
3 Tighten the pore :
PRP narrows pores, reduce sebum production, and make your skin look younger..
4 Rejuvenate the skin :
With the skin in the aging process, PRP brings vividly high effect after the treatment.
Time: from 90 -120 minutes.
In order to get desired result, it should be performed 2-4 times, each time should be seperated from 1-4 weeks.
